The community that is not a community of the gods also is neither a community of heroes nor sovereigns, It produces no work and does not tend toward communitarian fusion. The only “purpose” it serves is to communicate to you your exposedness and so to shove you out of yourself toward the other, to make you responsive to and responsible for the other.
